Introduction
I am doing a project in Ms. Huysman’s science class, but it is kind of a project for The Reading Workshop. The project is about cells. We are either allowed to make a plant cell or an animal cell, we can make an edible cell meaning you make a cell plant or animal but it can’t be no bigger than your two fists. Another way we can make our cell is non edible which you can’t use food to make the cell. I am doing a non-edible animal cell.
Grading Scale
We will be graded 10 different ways. These are the 10 different ways.
1. Your comprehension
2. Your Enthusiasm
3. How Prepared you are
4. You listen to other presentations
5. You speak clearly
6. You have nice posture and eye contact
7. Your content
8. Your plan
9. Your construction-materials
10. Construction care taken
That is the 10 ways we will be graded on our project. Each one of these 10 things are worth 4 points if you get the highest part the other points are 3, 2, and 1. I want a 4 on everyone of them! I have to make my cell look really good because Ms. Huysman is giving 5 bonus points for the most accurate, most attractive, most creative, or most disgusting.
Other Organelles In My Animal Cell
My animal cell will have a……….
Cell Membrane
Nucleus
Chromosome
Ribosome
Mitochondria
Vacuole
Endoplasmic Reticulum
An animal cell has lots of different parts. These are the main parts we have learned about so far.
Definitions of all of the Cells
Nucleus– The Nucleus is the control center of the cell.
Cell Membrane– Thin outer covering that holds a cell together.
Cytoplasm-clear, jelly like material that fills the space between the Cell Membrane and the Nucleus.
Chromosome– springlike structure in a cell Nucleus that carries information controlling all the cells activities.
Ribosome-organelle that puts together proteins for the cell.
Mitochondria– organelles where food and oxygen react to release energy. Another way to remember it is that the Mitochondria is “The Powerhouse Of The Cells”.
Vacuole– Saclike organelle used for storing materials.
Endoplasmic Reticulum– organelle that transports materials inside the cell.
